What are Gel Coats?

Gel coats are specially formulated resins, often pigmented, that are applied to the surface of molds in the initial stages of the fiberglass laminating process. They are designed to protect the underlying fiberglass layers and provide a smooth, glossy, and attractive finish to the final product.

What are Gel Coats Used For?

  • Protective Layer: Gel coats act as a protective barrier, shielding the underlying fiberglass material from environmental factors such as UV rays, moisture, and general wear and tear.

How are Gel Coats Used?
