Fiberglass Tapes (Cloth)

Fiberglass Tape is typically used as a composite reinforcment on the edges of a fiberglass based composite product. It is designed to help avoid fraying edges and in locations where a narrow strip of fiberglass material is needed. These narrow widths of fiberglass have many applications such as selectively reinforcing the edges and seams of molds, or in laminations and pipe winding applications. With fully seamed edges, the problems caused by cutting narrow strips from full width fabrics can be avoided. These tapes wet out easily and is most similar to a 10 oz fabric. Typically, fiberglass tapes are available in a plain weave construction, although others may be special ordered with additional lead time.
