(U.S. Coast Guard Compliant Marine Foam)

* This two-part liquid, expanding rigid urethane foam is a closed cell, pourable foam, which will resist the absorption of water.
* The densities shown refer to the weight per cubic foot of expanded foam (12″ x 12″ x 12″).
* Once fully cured this foam can be laminated over with any type of polyester, epoxy or vinyl ester resin without melting.
* This product can be poured in multiple layers with excellent bonding between layers.
* All expansion rates and times given are temperature critical. Temperatures below 75 degrees F will lower the expansion rate therefore requiring more foam. Ideal working temperature is 75 to 80 degrees F or above.
* Accurate measuring of these products is extremely critical.
* Working time before foaming: approx. 45 seconds
* Time before full expansion: approx. 5 minutes
* The lightweight foam is commonly used for filling voids, filling under decks and practically any other flotation or insulation application. Higher densities are used for architectural castings, support applications and has virtually an unlimited number of potential uses.

Pour Foam calculator for rectangular areas

Example: A gap in the floor of a boat needs to be filled for floatation. The area is 4ft x 2ft x 1ft. This would require 2.39 Gallons of 2lb density foam to be mixed. To account for uneven expansion and waste, you should have 3 gallons on hand.

Recommended Supplies for Foam

Graduated Mixing Cups – An accurate measurement is extremely important to achieve optimum curing.

Mixing Tools – It’s very important that the foam is mixed thoroughly and quickly. For small amounts a tongue depressor is okay but for larger amounts you should use a power mixer. We sell both of these items.

PPE – When cured, urethane foam is EXTREMELY hard to remove. You should always wear gloves and properly prepare the area with plastic in case you spill or it expands more than you anticipate. In addition to gloves you should protect your skin and eyes from exposure.

Pour Foam Calculator for circular areas

Example: You have a hole that is 8″ in diameter and 6″ deep. You would require .163 Gallons of 8lb density foam to be mixed. To account for uneven expansion and waste, you should have at least .25 gallons on hand.

This video demonstrates how quickly the foam begins to expand once mixed.

This video demonstrates how hard the foam cures to. This is relatively soon after the first video.

I have ordered this product multiple times and have never had a bad experience. The foam is fresh and expands like it should. We use it to fill skimmers for draining sedimentation ponds down and it just works.

Have no complaints about this product. It works great for all my needs.

I would only say that the labeling of parts A or B, could be more consistent to avoid accidental product mixing.

Thanks

I bought 2 40lb kits. The first “science experiment” was not so great.

Phase I – Approximately 5:45 82 degrees outside, product temp was higher! (huge difference) Poured in Part A. Poured in Part B into 5 gallon bucket. Inserted electric drill attached paint stirrer and within 10-15 seconds HOLY GUACAMOLE! My “Lab Assistant” shouted, “Its coming up!” It was Old Faithful! This stuff exponentially expanded and we tried to quickly get it into the funnel. The tip of the funnel clogged after about 1/3rd of the barrel filled. With no further draining, the remainder of the product was expanding all over the funnel, the barrel, the ground, and us! Clean up took hours. This stuff does not clean up easy. Use PLENTY of plastic around your floor/mold! It destroyed our gloves, shoes, shirts, pants and my “Lab Assistant” got it on his bare leg. Removal was like waxing a bear. He had a clean stripe down his shin.

11 pm. time to go home.
